Ashley & Patrick – An American(s) in Cobh

From a skype call from San Diego last April to walking down the aisle in St Colmans Cathedral, Cobh. This was definitely one of the longest journeys any of the couples we have photographed have taken. Normally when we are skyping with couples it is Irish people in Australia or England coming home for the wedding. This time it was two Americans looking to tie the knot in the Old Emerald Isle. We were only too happy to help out with everything #DoubleJobbingWeddingPlanner, #NewJob
So our couple resident in California but from Ohio and Charleston together with their families took themselves to Cork for this magical event. St Colmans Cathedral perched atop the hill sitting in the historic seaside town of Cobh looking across at the Islands of Spike and Hawlbowline in beautiful Cork harbour is such a picture postcard on any day but on a sunny day even more so. And a sunny day with the Cobh Blackrock Sailing Regatta going on giving yet more drama to our scene. What a picture postcard destination wedding.
It was super sunny day to start in Colmans. Wonderful trip over to Fota House for family and fab bridal party pictures. We even found the stars and Stripes on the promenade in Cobh. It can always be a bit windy so we were holding onto our hats and veils. Still I think the sailors were delighted with the wind and for Ashley and Patrick I hope it is always in your sails.
And I have to finish with this – Ashley & Patrick – Stay classy, San Diego.
