Ciara & Roy – Vintage Christmas Magic at the Imperial Hotel Cork

A triple celebration for Ciara and Roy returning returning from Australia, celebrating their wedding and celebrating their first Christmas as Mr & Mrs.
Through skype and email, we had been talking in Australia and I knew that that the theme for the wedding was vintage. Boy was I blown away by just how perfect the vintage style was. Ciara’s tea-length dress and her bridesmaids Hollywood glamour set the whole tone. Roy as the leading man was equally dashing alongside his suitably elegant groomsmen. There was much excitement leaving from Farrenree and Montenotte to St Josephs Church. There was a bit of Australia present also on the day because the weather was sensational. The sun did not stop shining. The ladies were even able to arrive at the church with the top down in the car… In December!!!
One of the challenges of a christmas wedding is the shorter daylight and the traffic is busier. So a short hop to Riverview House was an ideal fit from a logistics and beauty point of view. Great location for photography AND a real hidden gem.
Onwards to the Imperial Hotel Cork for the reception. Christy from Wedding Vintage Car Hire took them for a spin down Patrick Street. Arriving at the Imperial Hotel Cork to a wonderful reception by James made all the more significant because Ciara’s grandparents were married in the same hotel. Wow! The wonderful thing about sunny days in December is wonderful sunsets. Nature’s gift to all wedding photographers. What better place to take a sunset than on the roof of the penthouse in the Imperial with all of Cork City en fete and watch the sun set on a wonderful day? Extra bonus points for spotting the Ferris Wheel in the background.

Happy Ever After Ciara & Roy.
